Setting Intentions

Hello All!

I want to start by thanking you for taking the time to visit my page. My name is Liri and I am the Founder of Freedohm Yoga and one of the Instructors. Freedohm Yoga is still in its developmental stages but I’m excited to share with the community all the seeds I have been planting.

Freedohm Yoga has been a rough idea I have been playing with since finishing my Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India in April of 2016. The concept behind Freedohm Yoga is to create an experience, not just a yoga class. Yoga, for me has always been about connection. Connecting to my deeper self, to the universe and better connecting with those around me. It has made me more aware of my surroundings and taught me to be more mindful. It has given me more patience and empathy. Its overall made me a gentle warrior navigating through the world. It has given me Freedohm. Freedohm to be my authentic self, to live fully and love deeply. Freedohm in my own skin and mind. Freedohm to tip toe through the world with greater resilience and strength. This is the gift I wish to share with you all.

This is the idea behind Freedohm Yoga, to help everyone who crosses our path to find their own Freedohm. Whatever that may mean for them. And doing this in a supportive, inclusive environment of non-judgement. For me, Yoga is not a class that has a 75 minute beginning and end, its a life journey, a way to live, a way to be.

In the mountains it easy to see that there are things larger than us in this world. But it is also seen that we are equally important. If one part of the environment changes, the rest of the eco system changes with it. And that goes for people as well. If one person decides to change their behavior from destructive to constructive, every person their life touches is affected as well. That is why Freedohm Yoga primarily teaches outdoors. Sun salutations under the golden sun beams, grounding into the grassy earth, listening to the birds. All of these things give us greater peace, connection and understanding. Our Earth is the most important thing we have. And that is why we have committed to donating 10% of profits to organizations that protect our Mother.

So far Freedohm Yoga teaches in 10 locations across Sullivan County. We also provide personally crafted privates for many locals and visitors. We are still looking to expand. If you have a location for us to teach, reach out to us by emailing lirifreedohmyoga@gmail.com.

Along with teaching Freedohm Yoga is designing and creating Eco-Friendly Yoga Mats and Accessories that will (hopefully) be launching in 2018. This blog will be a platform for myself and the other teachers to reach all of you. We will discuss all things Health, Wellness and Yoga. You can email us questions to discuss. We want to hear from you.

I’d like to dedicate my practice and this new beginning to the Moon, Sun, Earth and all the stars, to the rivers and lakes and oceans. To the Forests and jungles and deserts and plains. To the flowers and herbs and trees. To the dogs and cats and snakes and deer, wolves and coyotes. To every living creature that walks, runs, crawls and jumps through our Earth and beyond. And I’d like to dedicate it to all of you. The divine light in me honors the divine light in you. Namaste.
